See the world’s oldest living culture come to life through traditional dance, art and interactive demonstrations performed by the Tjapukai people. Your General Admission to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park will indulge you to authentic Aboriginal experience just 20-30 minute drive from Cairns.

Through a live performance, you’ll learn about the ancient dreamtime story of world’s creation according to the Tjapukai people. There will be a variety of Aboriginal art styles which you will discover through the Art of My People. You’ll also learn hunting techniques, as well as the creation and uses of weapons. You’ll also experience throwing boomerangs and spears. Your ticket to the General Admission goes a long way. This experience is great for adults and children.

If you’ve always been interested in the didgeridoo, this tour unravels the secrets of the circular breathing techniques needed to play and master this instrument. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the native bush foods and medicines through a presentation.

Basically, your admission for Tjapukai General Admission is a 2.5 hour Aboriginal culture experience and it includes:

  • Bush Foods and Medicines Presentation

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is located approximately 25 minutes north of Cairns and about 50 minutes from Port Douglas. The tour operates on weekdays and weekends. Time slots are 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Tickets to the General Admission is $62 per person and only $45 per child (ages 4 to 14 years old). A family package is available for $166 which is good for 2 adults and 2 children.

By Self-drive

From Cairns, you can reach your destination via National Route 1. 
From Port Douglas, the park can be accessible via Captain Cook Hwy / State Route 44.

By Bus

Catch a bus operated by Translink Route 123 from the Cairns City Place Bus Stop and returns from Tjapukai Bus Stop. 

By Taxi

You can take a taxi with Cairns Taxis. It will take you directly to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park in approximately 12 minutes. The estimated cost range is $55 - $70.
