Come spend some time camping on a sacred land! Gunnarr Campsite is open for visitors who want to expand their knowledge on Aboriginal culture. This campsite is located near Hope Vale in North Queensland.

Gunnarr Campsite got its name from the Aboriginal word “gunnarr”, meaning “crocodile.”

Gunnarr Campsite is a traditional land open to both self-drive and self-contained campers. The site has marked up areas where campers can stay, as well as functioning toilets and showers that are free to use. Campers are expected to bring their own water to the site and clean up all their rubbish.

In addition to this, the site offers cultural and bush tucker tours that will take you to lake and on country. You can also engage in activities such as birdwatching, croc spotting at night, and pig hunting arranged for you. Tag along tours are also available. Cud Murray (dinner), can be prepared for you as part of the tours.

Book your camp!

Camping - $30 per car of 4 people, additional $5 per person

Tag along - $500 per car, $250 per additional car

Cud Murray - price on request

Gunnarr Campsite will officially open this April 2020, the closing of the camp will depend on the start of the wet season. Minimum stay is one night.
