Dugul Campsite is located near Hope Vale in North Queensland. Camp in the traditional land with opportunities to engage in tours and activities to discover Aboriginal culture.
Camp on traditional land and learn about the life of Aboriginal people here at Dugul Campsite. Dugul, the name of the campsite, means “fresh water turtle.” It is located near a seasonal creek.
The campsite has marked up areas for self-drive or self-contained campers. Toilets and showers available on the site for campers to use.
Dugul Campsite is not only for a relaxing vacation away from the busy city-life, it is also a great chance to gain knowledge on Aboriginal culture. You can avail of cultural and bush tucker tours that take you to lake and to country. If a tag along tour is what you fancy, it is also being provided. You can also schedule activities such as birdwatching, croc spotting at night, and pig hunting. Lastly, Cud Murray (dinner) can be prepared for you, this can be an additional part of the available tours.
Camping - $30 per car of 4 people, additional $5 per person
Tag along - $500 per car, $250 per additional car

Please take note that you are expected to bring your own water and to clean up after your rubbish.
Dugul Campsite will officially open this April 2020, the closing of the camp will depend on the start of the wet season. Minimum stay is one night.

The camp sites are located near Hope Vale, North Queensland. Hope Vale is about 35-minute drive from Cooktown and 4-hours drive from Cairns.
From Cairns, you can reach your destination via State Route 81. From Cooktown, it is accessible via Endeavour Valley Rd.
Okapi Airlines operates flights from Cairns to Cooktown airport daily. The journey time takes about 45 minutes.
